Precision, hands-on work, and digital technology — as a Machine and Equipment Operator (m/f/x), you keep production running. You make sure our machines operate smoothly and our processes stay clean, stable, and reliable.
STEP BY STEP THROUGH YOUR retraining program
At the start of your retraining, you’ll take part in a structured interview (around 30 minutes) and an aptitude test (approx. 3 hours). Together, we determine what motivates you, how strong your technical understanding is, and whether this profession is truly the right fit for you. This careful selection process ensures you have the best chances of success — and helps prevent a situation where you might feel the need to drop out later on.
Your retraining follows the official training framework and combines practical and theoretical learning: Practical training: Setting up, operating and monitoring machines and systems. Theoretical training: technology, electrical engineering, economics and social studies. You’ll also earn job-relevant additional qualifications such as welding technology, robotics, gear technology, Industry 4.0, and both crane and forklift licenses. Each module includes a short skills assessment and a certificate.
At the end of your retraining, you’ll take the IHK exam to become a Machine and Equipment Operator (m/f/x). This gives you valuable practical experience, helps you build a professional network, and often opens the door to your first job. With a placement rate of around 95%, our retraining program has an excellent track record of helping participants start their new careers successfully.
