You put materials through their paces. As a materials tester (m/f/x), you analyze metals, identify weak points, and thus ensure quality.

Understanding metal. Ensuring quality. Shaping the future.

Understanding metal. Ensuring quality. Shaping the future.

Materials Testers (m/f/x) are our specialists for material quality. Without material expertise, nothing works in development or production. You’ll examine metallic materials and our products to determine their properties, analyze their composition, and verify that they meet required standards. Using modern testing methods such as ultrasound, X-ray inspection, and tensile testing, you’ll detect potential weaknesses early and ensure our products are reliable, durable, and built to meet BENTELER’s quality standards.

You’ll work closely with development and production teams, document your results carefully, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our development and manufacturing processes. Your expertise plays a key role in quality assurance and ensures our customers receive products that perform exactly as promised.

Your apprenticeship

Step by step through the apprenticeship program

1st year of training

In your first year, you’ll learn how to handle our key materials such as steel and aluminum. You’ll acquire basic skills in material processing and become familiar with key manufacturing methods. You’ll also learn the fundamentals of both destructive and non-destructive materials testing.

2nd year of training

In your second year, you’ll apply your growing knowledge in BENTELER’s various test laboratories. Whether in the labs of our production plants or in the central laboratory for automotive technology, you’ll learn how our modern testing systems work and get the chance to put your school and workshop learning into practice. You’ll also attend specialized module courses at BENTELER and take part in material testing training at certified testing institutions.

3rd year of training

In your third year, you’ll begin handling your own assignments in the lab — both for development and directly for production. You can also build your expertise further through additional qualifications and targeted learning modules. As you approach the end of the 3.5-year program, the focus shifts to thorough preparation for your final exam.

What do you need to bring with you? Technology in your head, curiosity in your heart

As a Materials Tester (m/f/x), you help ensure that BENTELER lives up to its reputation as a specialist in metal processing. This commitment to quality is part of our DNA and plays a decisive role in the long-term success of our company.
