As an Industrial Mechanic (m/f/x), you are an expert for our production equipment. You ensure that production runs smoothly by assembling, maintaining, and repairing machines. Whenever something stops working, you are the one who steps in — so everything gets back up and running.

Industrial Mechanics at BENTELER are specialists for complex machinery and highly automated production systems. You’ll manufacture components, assemble mechanical units, and be responsible for entire production systems — either on-site or directly at the customer’s. You’ll be involved in planning, installation, and commissioning, and you’ll oversee the equipment used in production — from regular maintenance to repair. You’ll ensure that our high-tech manufacturing processes operate at peak performance.
Step by step through the apprenticeship program
In your first year, you’ll learn the fundamentals of manual and machine-based manufacturing. You’ll work with the materials used at BENTELER — especially steel and aluminum. Combined with various module trainings, you’ll build the foundation for your future practical assignments in our plants.
You’ll apply your growing skills in different specialist departments at BENTELER. In the maintenance departments of our plants, you’ll get to know our machines and systems, and you’ll be able to prove yourself for the first time in real-life situations. In addition, you’ll prepare for upcoming assignments and your IHK exams through specialized modular courses.
By your third year, you’ll be ready to take on tasks in the plant environment independently. You’ll also have the opportunity to further your knowledge through additional qualifications and advanced training courses. Finally, you’ll also prepare for the final portion of your IHK exam.
In your final year, you’ll prepare intensively for your final exam. You’ll gain extensive practical experience, take on increasing responsibility, and get to know the department where you could later continue your career after completing your training. You’ll be able to share your preferences in advance — and together we’ll explore your options. You’ll also receive targeted exam preparation.

At BENTELER, we train for our own workforce needs. That means: if your performance is strong and you’re committed during your apprenticeship, you have excellent chances of being hired afterward and launching your career with us.
You’ll need a motivation letter, your résumé, and at least your two most recent school reports. If you’ve completed internships or have certificates – perfect! Upload them as well. They help us understand your experience and strengths.
Absolutely! You can apply even if your final report card isn’t available yet. In that case, simply send us your most recent mid-year reports. You can upload your final certificate later if we need it.
