The apprenticeship as Industrial Management Assistant provides you with a broad understanding of commercial workflows within a company. You’ll gain experience in areas such as procurement, sales, logistics, HR, and accounting and take on a wide variety of tasks. You’ll handle bookkeeping activities, compare offers, support customers, and assist our HR teams. You’ll also work with modern IT systems and contribute to specific projects. By combining vocational school theory with practical experience at BENTELER, you receive a solid foundation for your future career — including the opportunity to gain international experience abroad.
Step by step through the apprenticeship
In your first year, you’ll get to know the commercial workflows at BENTELER — and meet your fellow trainees and the company itself. You’ll start with a welcome week featuring interactive workshops on teamwork, communication, and workplace basics. Throughout the year, you’ll alternate between block lessons at vocational school and practical assignments in various departments, supported by additional workshops for your personal and professional development.
In your second year, you’ll dive deeper into the commercial world. You’ll rotate through additional departments and gain insight into more complex processes, including supplier and customer appointments or reporting and controlling for management. The combination of vocational school, hands-on assignments, and targeted workshops will give you a varied and practical training experience.
In your third year, you’ll focus on preparing for your final exam and advancing your personal development. Based on your experience so far, we’ll discuss which department best matches your interests and strengths — with the goal of smoothly transitioning you into your future full-time role. In the final weeks, you’ll receive targeted onboarding in your future department to start your career well-prepared.

At BENTELER, we train for our own workforce needs. That means: if your performance is strong and you’re committed during your apprenticeship, you have excellent chances of being hired afterward and launching your career with us.
You’ll need a motivation letter, your résumé, and at least your two most recent school reports. If you’ve completed internships or have certificates – perfect! Upload them as well. They help us understand your experience and strengths.
Absolutely! You can apply even if your final report card isn’t available yet. In that case, simply send us your most recent mid-year reports. You can upload your final certificate later if we need it.
