During the combined study program in Computer Science/Business Information Systems, you’ll learn how to design efficient processes using hardware and software. You’ll work on real-world problem-solving – in teams, with colleagues, or for internal customers – and actively contribute to digitalization at BENTELER. Along the way, you’ll grow professionally and personally while helping increase efficiency across the entire company.
STEP BY STEP THROUGH THE COMBINED STUDY PROGRAM
In your first year, you’ll build the foundation: learning IT basics, completing your pre-study internship, and gaining initial practical experience in BENTELER’s IT departments. This gives you a real sense of how technology, processes, and people are closely interconnected.
In your second year, you’ll take on your first IT projects and deepen your knowledge in areas such as project management or programming languages. Additional hands-on assignments help you apply your theoretical knowledge directly in day-to-day operations.
Your third year brings an important milestone: your international assignment, giving you new perspectives and experiences. You’ll also complete your Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) exam as an IT Specialist and support events like the Open House Day with your expertise.
In your fourth year, you’ll meet managers at regular networking events, actively plan your plant assignments, and work on your bachelor’s thesis.
In your fifth year, you’ll complete advanced practical phases and, if you wish, add a semester abroad – ideal for expanding your knowledge on an international level.
In your sixth year, you’ll work in potential target departments, contribute your skills to complex IT projects, and complete the program with your master’s thesis – your entry into a digital future at BENTELER.

Once we receive your application, we review your documents and check whether everything has been submitted correctly. If everything fits, you’ll receive an invitation to a digital online test, which you can complete from home within a two-week period.
