As a CNC Machinist, you’ll work with turning, milling, and grinding machines with absolute precision. You’ll program our state-of-the-art CNC systems, monitor the production process, and make sure every part is manufactured exactly to specification. With your technical skills, you’ll help turn raw material into high-precision components that keep BENTELER moving forward.

CNC Machinists are our precision specialists. You’ll manufacture metal components with exceptional accuracy, program and operate modern CNC machines, and oversee the entire machining process. You’ll also inspect part quality and play a role in planning production workflows. With technical know-how and creative problem-solving, you’ll develop solutions for complex geometries and optimize machining processes. In this way, you’ll ensure every component meets exact requirements, whether it’s a one-off part or a series production run.
Step by step through the apprenticeship
In your first year, you’ll learn how to handle key materials such as steel and aluminum. You’ll gain basic machining skills and get to know the main manufacturing processes — especially turning and milling. This lays the foundation for precise work on modern turning, milling, and grinding machines.
In your second year, you’ll apply your knowledge in different areas at BENTELER and deepen your practical skills. You’ll get to know our production systems and work on your first real project assignments. You’ll also take part in specific module courses that will prepare you for your time in specialist departments and for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) exam.
In your third year, you’ll take on tasks directly for our production teams. You’ll take on more responsibility and work on more complex machining assignments. You’ll also have the chance to gain additional qualifications and specialize further through technical courses.
In your final year, you’ll prepare intensively for your final exam. You’ll gain extensive practical experience, take on increasing responsibility, and get to know the department where you could later continue your career after completing your training. You’ll be able to share your preferences in advance — and together we’ll explore your options. You’ll also receive targeted exam preparation.

At BENTELER, we train for our own workforce needs. That means: if your performance is strong and you’re committed during your apprenticeship, you have excellent chances of being hired afterward and launching your career with us.
You’ll need a motivation letter, your résumé, and at least your two most recent school reports. If you’ve completed internships or have certificates – perfect! Upload them as well. They help us understand your experience and strengths.
Absolutely! You can apply even if your final report card isn’t available yet. In that case, simply send us your most recent mid-year reports. You can upload your final certificate later if we need it.
